What does RTNZ do?

The focal point of Round Table is its regular meetings. They are held normally twice a month, usually in the evenings and sometimes with a meal.

The regular meetings are the forums for speakers and many other forms of activities and entertainment. This can vary from a meeting with a Guest speaker, talking on varied subjects such as Russian submarines, Heraldry, alternative medicines and Wine Tasting (to name a few), to a meeting in a Hot Air Balloon, or it may be just a meal and include discussions on forthcoming social and service projects.Have a look at the programme at each Round Table Club to see what is on around the country.

Visitors and potential members will always be made particularly welcome as RTNZ provides an ideal opportunity to establish new friendships.

What kind of activities are there?

The sky is literally the limit when it comes to the numerous activities that RTNZ members find to take part in:

  • Parachuting, gliding and flying
  • Abseiling down tall buildings
  • Driving tanks and go-karts
  • Sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving

In fact, the only limit is your enthusiasm, so if there is something you have always wanted to do, then Round Table is the ideal chance for you to have a go. That's why our unofficial motto is:

'We don't just sit there'.

What about social events and family activities?

Social events and outings are a frequent and popular way of bringing Round Table members and their families together. These are organised at both National and local levels and could be anything from go-karting to Ten Pin Bowling, Paint-Ball, Sailing, Camping, treasure Hunts, Quiz Nights...the list is endless!!

Inter-club and regional sporting competitions play an important part in the Round Table calendar, with members taking part in many sports.

How does RTNZ help the community?

The main aim of Round Table is FUN and meeting people from all walks of life. Round Table is also known for organising novel fund-raising events which form an important part of its activities.

With an emphasis on local and practical help, service within the community is a must whether it be car parking at local carnivals, organising Christmas collections or outings for disabled children and elderly.

RTNZ has assisted many organisations in their community. Over the past year RTNZ has donated many thousands of dollars to various organisations in New Zealand.
